Simply put, it’s a concert in your home with international, award-winning recording artists, Gypsy Soul!
Your living room or yard becomes the band’s venue for the night and you and your friends enjoy an intimate evening of music in the comfort of your own home. You can invite your friends and family only or open your home to our mailing list as well. We need a minimum of 50 attendees to book a show. You can provide chairs or blankets for people, or ask them to bring their own. You can also make refreshments available or make it a pot luck affair. We provide the PA (if needed), the music and stories, while we all create lasting memories together! Firstly, a few questions for you:
Why 50 people? We need at least that many people for us to book it as a weekend show. We will do our best to accommodate your date requests and sometimes, house concerts can even be mid-week or on Sunday afternoons. However, it still may not be possible unless we are coming through your area, or can book other shows around your concert. This is why it’s best to talk dates with us as soon as possible, as our calender can fill up, 8-12 months in advance.
-If the show is outdoors, is it a good environment for live music?
If you have this great back yard BUT you live on a busy junction next to a Starbucks drive-through or, if you live right underneath the flight path of your local airport, the show might be better indoors. If your house isn’t suitable, perhaps a friend has great place? Or, you can go in with a few friends and rent a local community center inexpensively
Hmm..... I don’t feel comfortable asking my friends for money. Can I just pay you for the people that come?
Of course. It’s $20 per person. So if there are 50 people, it’ $1,000.00 and if there are 80 people, that’s $1,600.00. But, remember to tell your friends that it’s a concert, not a party! That’s not to say that we won’t party or have a great time, but it reminds people that they need to behave in the same manner expected at a concert at performing arts center. In contrast, at a party where the music is not the feature of the evening but part of other events (such as a birthday party or fund raisers with an auction), we charge our party performance fee which starts at $3,500. You can see why house concerts are such an amazing deal for first rate entertainment in your living room!
What about kids, can they come? Some people may have trouble getting a baby-sitter.
Yes, but they must be supervised. What seems to work best for everyone is if they have a babysitter in a separate part of the house where they can watch videos and play games with each other. All those parents that bring young children with them, can pool together to hire one babysitter. This way, everyone gets to have a great time!
